Workspaces and Groups¶
Access & Federation¶
User access can be requested through a support ticket entered in the Aunalytics Support Client Portal. Once the support ticket is processed the requested user will receive their log in credentials via email.
Prior to accessing the platform, it is recommended users be federated. Upon approval, users will receive their login credentials via email. Through federation users will automatically be assigned to their necessary groups. These credentials, coupled with Identity Provider (IdP) facilitated by Auth 0, enable users to effortlessly access the platform spaces they are authorized to see.
Groups¶
Groups refer to a logical organization or categorization of users with shared attributes or permissions. These groupings serve to streamline the management of users by allowing administrators to apply collective settings, permissions, or access controls to a specific set of individuals. By grouping users based on common characteristics, roles, or requirements, administrators can efficiently assign and manage access rights, making it easier to control and organize user interactions within the platform. Groups are instrumental in enhancing security, simplifying user administration, and ensuring that users with similar needs or roles have consistent experiences and access privileges within the environment.
Workspaces¶
Workspaces offer a structured and collaborative environment where users can efficiently organize, manage, and execute their work. Workspaces function as a tool for managing data access levels, ensuring that users only see information pertinent to their roles and permissions as defined by the organization, thereby maintaining a secure and controlled environment. When users log in and have access to multiple workspaces, an interactive Workspace Selector will appear, presenting a catalogue of their available workspaces. Users can then click on the workspace they wish to enter to view the available reports and interactive explore functions associated with that workspace.
User Management for Groups and Workspaces¶
Admin level users play a key role in associating groups with their workspaces. This responsibility is efficiently handled through the "Settings" option in the lower-left menu.
Upon an administrator adding a group to a workspace or a workspace to a group, users within that group gain immediate visibility to the associated workspaces. This streamlined process guarantees effective user management, providing a seamless experience for accessing the relevant workspaces.
Assigning Groups to a Workspace¶
To assign a group to a workspace, the admin user can navigate to the workspace settings section, open the desired workspace, and access the list of available groups.
By toggling the switch next to the chosen group, the users associated with that group gain access to the workspace.
